Both the company and its employees are extremely involved in a multitude of community affairs.

Corporately, The Republic Companies is a major sponsor of the John Deere Classic, participates in community events such as Race For The Cure, American Heart Walk, America's Walk for Diabetes, Junior Achievement Bowl-a-Thon, Junior Achievement, United Way, and Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Drives.

On an employee level, Republic encourages and supports employees to participate in community service activities. Our employees are involved in Kiwanis, Shriners, Quad City Hockey Association, serve on the board's of the Scott County Family Y, the John Deere Classic, Quad City Bank and Trust, Genesis Medical Center, and are also actively involved in local church and school activities.

  • Gwen Appleoff volunteers her time at the Bix at Six finish line. She is part of a group from her church, Central Church of Christ, Davenport, which provides water to the runners at thisweekly summer event.
  • The Republic Companies has been a supporter of the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center for 18 years. In that time, employees have donated 209 units of blood (26 gallons!). Gwen Appleoffhas coordinated our annual blood drive for 15 years.
  • Teaching Junior Achievement classes to grade-school students for the past five years has been a very rewarding experience for Larry Hayes . Larry's classes have focused on the role of family and community.
  • Mark Kilmer volunteers a great deal of his time for the John Deere Classic Golf Tournament and has been a chairman of this PGA TOUR event for two seperate years.

  • Ted Stephens has been actively involved in the Quad City Hockey Association since it's inception in 1995. Ted had served as a board member, coach, and most recently, a referee.
  • Kiwanis is a nationwide civic/service organization that is focused on providing financial support to local communities. Tom Wagner has been a member of Kiwanis for 15 years and has held the offices of Treasurer, Vice President and President.
